The American Christian Weapons of Words Past and Present Lesson 5
As we open today’s lesson, let us reflect on what we’ve learned from previous lessons. We are to speak boldly the truth- examples, Paul and the Bill of Rights, Also the Declaration of Independence.
We are Stand up and fight against the enemy-Through words, prayer and what we are willing to take yet remain unmoved. These during an assault on us and our values handed down to us by God and the values and wisdom of our Founding Fathers.
Our Nation is a Christian Nation. It was set up that way and was not meant to be anything but a Christian Nation.
We have studied the Character and actions of Paul and what Christ’s has said. Now let’s open with how Christ conducted himself in front of the governing body judging him.
Luke 23:1-5
23:1 Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King." 3 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" He answered him and said, "It is as you say."
Note - Christ did not back down, but did not hesitate to answer. I note he seems to have a peaceful manner about him in doing so.
4 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd,"I find no fault in this Man." 5 But they were the more fierce, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place."
Note - meaning He says things against what we believe, He can’t get away with that.
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked if the Man were a Galilean. 7 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
Note - I find it interesting to note that even when Pilate knew it was wrong, because of the people that Christ’s teaching bothered those people, that he moved forward to make these people happy. But Pilate gives Jesus to someone else to judge him, not wanting to be guilty himself of Jesus’s fate; although each one enabling this fate would still have the guilt branded on them.
8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing.
Note -There will be times of useless words; when nothing said will help in man’s ways. Jesus knew his fate and willingly accepted it. He could have changed it all by calling out to God to save him from this fate, but he didn’t because it was for you and me that he had this hearing and death. He knew full well what was ahead and stood accepting it. This was what He came to do, to take our guilt and give us a heavenly life, this needed to be done for us to be saved from Hell.
In our situation there will be times of silent firmness as well as times of speaking out boldly. A Stand can boldly be proclaimed even without words. This is through our actions. We need God’s wisdom to know which to use in any given situation. That is where prayer and your relationship with God really gets to where the rubber hits the road. Talking daily to God, having him close will instill in you a sense of knowing when to speak, a nudge (even as fear is prevalent), and when to Stand and maybe not participate in what others do or make it known in some way that it is not just okay with you as an American Christian. These things can be stronger than words at times.
What are some of the Stands we can make as American Christians. We can PRAY We can stay in the word and in Church on a regular stance We can reach out and all join together as Christians against evil. We can stay informed and once informed not let it bounce off, but take in the info as an American Christian. We can Vote and encourage others to vote We can speak up when people try to take away our rights. And the things our Founding fathers have set up. When they try to take God from our Nation. We can contact our Representatives and let them know our views (the other side has had this down pat for years). Look the number up or know the page to go to on or computer. We can inform people of their rights as an American Christian Learn your rights and God’s laws (Ten Commandments) Read and print out the Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and keep them handy and access to your Constitution. Try and learn one right a week and one section of our Declaration of independence. These are available of this site. Just print them out and stick them on your frig or mirror, or in your bathroom or car. We can help our communities and let people know we care about others situations. We can stand up as a voice for the unborn. Many ways of helping in that are available, you can visit out link page for more info on that.
In Our Declaration Of Independence it states:
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations (force without right), pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, (complete control) it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. -- Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government
Our stance is what our Founding Fathers have said, to stand for what is right. It is our duty as the Christian American. To not take; the tearing down of our foundation.
We stand for our Ten Commandments as guides everywhere, especially in our courts and schools. We stand for the right to live ( our unborn). We stand for our right to disagree with the Governmental body in place now. We stand for prayer wherever we want to pray. We stand for the right to have a cross anywhere. And for many other things that effect us that are part of our foundation that they are trying to take away.
The train is moving, the abuses are mounting and we must not allow a choice group of people to dictate to us that we have to live by what they say. In America, the people Standing on our foundation, the people must rise to the challenge that these abuses instill. We are a Country to whom all greatness was given by our reliance on God.
And in the Bible it says in him only shall we serve. We do not call ourselves a nation of many God’s from all beliefs but of the one true God.
Our Pledge to our Flag reads:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to The Republic for which it stands: One Nation under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.
Believers Are Salt and Light.
Matt 5:13-16
13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
We are the Church, all Christians are the Light. America has been a light to many other Nations. It was rooted on God. We must continue to in all determination Shine as that light on a hill for all to see. A people of God, for God and by God. What is salt? It is a strong influencing flavor that stands out above all else. It is an irritant – It can sting the eyes and skin and any porous place to which it adheres too. It is made of many individual grains coming together to form strength. Let us Bind and group together against the enemies plans. Let us be the Salt Of The World. Let us be A true “American Christian”
